Tanzania National Parks & Offers

Tanzania can be portrayed as a fantasy National park that works out. Dinner your eyes after shocking scenes with the absolute most excellent public parks on the mainland, alongside unmatched amounts of game, hippos in Ngorongoro, the world-renowned wildebeest movement of the Serengeti, chimpanzees somewhere down in the woods along Lake Tanganyika. Discover your experience by ascending the most elevated mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, or discover your Zen lazing in the sky-blue waters of Zanzibar and Pemba.

From sight-seeing balloon rides over the Serengeti National Park, the setting for the yearly movement of more than 1,000,000 zebra, wildebeest, and pronghorn, to the Ngorongoro Crater, the biggest solid and unfurled fountain of liquid magma caldera on the planet, to the breath-taking landscape of Kilimanjaro and Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania’s substantially more than simply a topmost safari objective.

Tanzania is where you can spot the Big Five on the Serengeti, see the migration of millions of wildebeest, swim with whale sharks in Zanzibar, watch the sunrise on Mount Kilimanjaro, and experience ancient Swahili culture.

Serengeti Tanzania

Tanzania is one of the most diverse and beautiful countries on the African continent. With its varied landscapes, wildlife, and history, Tanzania is a great destination for safaris. Here are five of the best Tanzania safari destinations:

Selous Game Reserve:

Selous is a legendary game reserve in Tanzania that boasts some of the most dramatic scenery in all of Africa. Along with numerous animal species, you can also explore incredible lakes and forests.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area:

If you’re looking for a truly wild safari experience, Ngorongoro should be at the top of your list. Home to numerous wildlife species as well as iconic Mount Kilimanjaro, this reserve is simply breathtaking.

Serengeti National Park:

The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most famous wildlife areas and it’s no wonder; it contains over two million animals and 250 different bird species. If you’re looking to see lions, elephants, zebras, and more, you won’t be disappointed! 4. Lake Manyara National Park: Lake Manyara is arguably Tanzania’s most popular national park; not only because of its Serengeti National Park.

If you’re planning a safari in Tanzania, the Serengeti is without a doubt one of the top options. Once you’ve arrived at the main gate of the park, your journey begins. From there, it’s all about finding your way through this vast and seemingly endless expanse of grassland and bush. The view from atop one of the many hills in the Serengeti is simply breathtaking – even more so when you see hundreds, if not thousands, of animals grazing or foraging in an ever-widening circle around you.

Of course, wildlife isn’t the only thing to look out for while in the Serengeti – as with any safari location, there are plenty of fascinating geological features to explore. And if you’re looking to take things a step further and learn more about Tanzanian culture and history while on your trip, there are several villages located within the park that offer interesting insights into life inside Africa’s oldest protected area.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Grand Canyon of Africa,” is one of Tanzania’s top tourist destinations. The crater is located in Arusha National Park and can be reached by car or helicopter. Ngorongoro offers a diversity of wildlife viewing experiences, ranging from close encounters with lion and elephant families to trekking through deep, forested valleys and high mountain ranges.

Mount Kilimanjaro National Park

Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, reaching an elevation of 19,341 feet above sea level. The mountain is located in Tanzania and can be accessed by car or train. There are several ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro including hiking, camelback riding, and flying. Hiking is the most popular way to summit the mountain and can take between four and eight days to complete. Climbing via camelback is also possible but it takes longer due to the need for rest stops along the way. Flying to Kilimanjaro requires a permit and can be expensive, but it is the fastest way to reach the top.

Tarangire National Park

The Tarangire National Park is Tanzania’s most popular National Park and a must-visit for anyone visiting the country. The park spans an area of more than 1,000 square kilometers and contains two of Tanzania’s three volcanoes – Mount Kilimanjaro to the north and Mount Meru to the south. The park is also home to Africa’s tallest waterfall – Victoria Falls.

Tarangire is known for its great wildlife – lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos and many other creatures can be found there. The park has several different campsites where visitors can relax after a day of exploring or enjoy some spectacular game drives in search of these animals.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania’s most popular tourist destinations and for good reason. Situated in the country’s northeastern corner, this huge national park is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, and crocs. There are also plenty of trails to explore, making it the perfect destination for a safari holiday.

To get to Lake Manyara you’ll need to fly into Arusha or Dodoma and then take a bus or car ride the short distance to the park. Once there you’ll be able to explore its vast expanse via jeep safaris or on foot. The best time to visit is during the dry season between October and April when wildlife is more active and viewing opportunities are better. However, even in the wet season, there are still some great sights to be seen — just be prepared for more rain.
