Day 1 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Pick up and transfer to booked hotel

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa: Upon arrival you shall be welcomed by our guide at Entebbe International Airport from where you will transfer to your booked accommodation. Depending on time of arrival you could opt for a drive around Entebbe as it is blessed with an abundance of Beaches and nature sightings as well as the Uganda Wild Life Education Centre (Zoo).

You could also enjoy a visit to the botanical Gardens known for its wide range of different types of trees, monkeys of different breeds and birds of different species plus a serene place to enjoy your evening. Otherwise check in, relax and recover from the jetlag. Enjoy Dinner and the overnight stay.

Day 2 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Drive to the Source of the Nile in Jinja with a relaxed afternoon

Have breakfast and then drive off to Jinja. En route, you will drive through Mabira Forest then head to Jinja where the Nile begins its flow to the Mediterranean Sea. Along this relatively short ride, also ensure to enjoy picture moments at the source of the Nile Bridge as this is considered a landmark. Visit the Source of the Nile then proceed for Lunch and a relaxed afternoon. Ensure to take a deep in the outdoor pool by the wild waters of the flowing Nile. Enjoy dinner and the night’s stay.

Day 3 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: White Water Rafting on the Nile

Enjoy your Breakfast and after embark on the journey to the meeting point to receive instructions on the dos and Don’ts of rafting on the Nile. Prepare to get Wet and amazed by the rapids along the Nile River as you undertake this activity that require no prior knowledge or experience to enjoy. Later in the afternoon enjoy lunch and relaxation at the lodge or as an option enjoy an evening boat ride or evening drive around Jinja town.

Day 4 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Enjoy a Scenic Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary/ Ziwa Ranch

Wake up early for breakfast and start the somewhat long but scenic drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is best known for being the home to most of the wild rhino population in Uganda as these had become extinct within our country. It is also a hub for very many bird species such as the Shoebill among a variety of others. Once you have arrived, proceed for lunch and later embark on the hour-long rhino tracking activity.

Day 5 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour:  Shoebill and Canoe trek and later transfer to Murchison Falls NP

Enjoy an early Breakfast and after head out to the Lugogo Swamp for the shoebill and Canoe trek. This activity is done very early (06:00hrs) to maximize the chance of spotting the most sought-after birds. This is the one pale one is almost assured of spotting these magnificent creatures as you also enjoy the Canoe trek to and fro. Later transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

This park derives its name from the mighty Rapids of the Murchison Falls and is located in the North West Uganda. The park being the Largest National Park in Uganda is a marvel and home to animals such as lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants, Nile crocodiles and Hippos plus so many more. Upon arrival into the park, check in at the Lodge and opt for either relaxation or enjoying the sunset or Embark on an evening Game drive.

Day 6 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Morning Game drive and later afternoon boat trip plus top of the falls’ hike

Enjoy an early Morning Breakfast and embark on the morning game drive as this sometimes has proved to be the best time to catch a glimpse of some of the animals as they prepare for the day ahead. Later in the afternoon return to lodge for lunch and after head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including Hippos and Crocodiles and several water birds. Top this with a hike to the top of the falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the end result is quite satisfying once you get to the top. Return to the accommodation and have a relaxed evening and dinner while catching up on the events of the day.

Day 7 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Exit Murchison Falls National Park and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast embark on one last game drive through Murchison Falls National Park as you might see some of the animals you did not get the chance to see earlier. The drive is quite long but greatly scenic as you will be passing through the lush green countryside with hills dotted with forests and plantations of different cash crops.

Kibale Forest National Park is popular for its primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and Uganda Mangabey but most importantly the Chimpanzees. Most of these can be seen as you make your way t Kibale and also during your trekking. You will reach and do little but check into your accommodation where you will have dinner and the overnight rest.

Day 8 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Chimp tracking Kibale Forest and afternoon excursion of the Bigodi Swamp

Wake up early for Breakfast and proceed to the briefing point where an experienced ranger guide will take you through the dos and don’ts of chimp tracking and after start the trek into Kibale Forest and the prepare to be amazed by one of our closest relatives the primates. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will only have an hour in their presence, please ensure to utilize it.

After Chimp trekking return to the lodge for lunch or in the event of a packed lunch proceed to Bigodi wetlands for the excursion of this bio diversely blessed swamp. The wet land consists of an array of different species of primates such as baboons and the Columbus monkeys and is also a home to a diversity of bird species such as the Great Blue Turaco. After, return to the Lodge for dinner and a night’s sleep.

Day 9 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Exit Kibale Forest and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up to breakfast and preparations to check out then exit Kibale Forest and head out for Queen Elizabeth National park. This park is believed to be Uganda’s ultimate destination and most popular National park with almost all animals easily found in this park. The park boosts of a large number of lions including the tree climbing lion as you shall find out along the way.

It’s also home to the Uganda Kob, antelopes, Impala, hyenas and Elephants. It rests with in the western arm of the East African Rift Valley giving it a breathtaking view of mountain plains through. Upon arrival, you won’t do much nut check into your accommodation and enjoy the view of the wild and your night’s stay.

Day 10 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Morning Game drive and proceed for the afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel

Enjoy your breakfast and proceed for a morning game drive with the hopes of finding a variety of wild life in the Kasenyi plains such as Cape buffalos, herds of elephants and lions among others. Return to the lodge for lunch after which you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel.

This channel connects Lakes George and Edward and also lies within the western arm of the rift valley. While on the boat look out for wildlife such as giant hippos, elephants, crocodiles and different species of birds along the banks of the river. After the boat cruise you will have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 11 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Exit Queen, transfer to Bwindi NP with en route game viewing in Ishasha (South)

After breakfast, check out of the accommodation and start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. As you exit queen Elizabeth NP enjoy a game drive through the Ishasha sector where the biggest attraction is the tree climbing lions among other game. The chance of spotting these is always high as they have turned these to homes. Continue out to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain Gorilla population. Upon arrival at the lodge, check in and gain some energy for the slightly strenuous trekking activity the next day.

Day 12 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Gorilla trekking Bwindi & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, sightseeing

Wake up early and make your way to the assembling point to undertake the short briefing on the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking. The UWA guide will explain more about the forest and the activity then embark on the search for the gorillas through the sheer beauty of a natural forest filled with different species of birds and other forest animals. Once you have located the majestic gorillas ensure to enjoy the memorable time with them as instructed. After, head on back to the lodge for a hot lunch and head on down to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Lake Bunyonyi is known to be one of Africa’s deepest lakes but this is only complementary to its beauty as it is scattered with various islands that make for a glorious view. After breakfast, make your way to the lake and into the traditional dugout canoe trek which will take you round the major islands with a guide narrating the rich history of each of these islands. Return to your accommodation for lunch and after relax and enjoy the beauty of Kabale hills.

Day 14 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Exit Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for Afternoon Game drive

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, check out of the accommodation and embark on your journey to Lake Mburo National park. Located in the western part of Uganda, Lake Mburo National park is the smallest of the savannah based National parks in Uganda and derives its name from lake Mburo; which is one of the main lakes in the park of the over 13 lakes with in.

The park is blessed with a number of games with some only limited to it such as the eland and some zebra. It also has impala, Giraffes, leopards (Rare to Spot), buffaloes, and many more animals within it. On reaching this park you will check in and enjoy lunch then set off to the park for the afternoon game drive in an effort to spot these animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15 of 17 Days Uganda Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Tour: Enjoy a morning Bush walk and later proceed for the afternoon Boat ride

Wake up to an early breakfast and proceed to meet your Armed UWA ranger guide designated to take you through the morning Bush/nature walk. Lake Mburo is believed to be predator free and hence the allowance for nature walks in the park. This activity provides the opportunity for you to watch game such as Zebras, Impala, antelopes and hyena at close range as they return to their dens for rest after a night of scavenging.

Also, make your way to the top of the hills to get a perfect view of the over 9 lakes of the total 14 lakes with in this park accompanied with a very interesting history. Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation and in the afternoon, head out for a boat cruise along lake Mburo and be on the lookout for Water wildlife such as Hippos, Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards and more also a perfect view of the salt lick from which animals get nutrition.

Along the way pass by the Uganda Equator for a memorable photo moment and also a very educative session with experiments performed at the line that separates the earth into northern and southern Hemisphere. You get the unique opportunity to enjoy both Hemispheres at this site. Continue to Kampala with en-route lunch and other sightings.
