Day 1: Drive to Kibale National Park

In the morning after breakfast, our 6 Days Gorillas, Primates, & Wildlife Budget Tour guide will embark on the drive to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal. The drive will take you through a beautiful green vegetation and tea plantations. Fort Portal town is situated at the basement of Rwenzori Mountain referred to as the Mountains of the Moon.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

In the morning after breakfast, the 6 Days Gorillas, Primates, & Wildlife Budget Tour guide will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the flora and fauna found in the park. You will be allocated a chimpanzee group to visit. Afterwards you will start your journey into the forest in search of the chimps which are our closest relatives.

Kibale is regarded as the primate capital in East Africa so you should expect to meet other primates along the way like the red-tailed monkeys, black and white Colobus monkeys, blue cheeked mangabey just to mention a few.

In the afternoon after lunch, you will head for the Bigodi Swamp Walk in search of numerous bird-life like the great blue turaco and small monkeys for example black and white Colobus.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After having breakfast, the 6 Days Gorillas, Primates, & Wildlife Budget Tour will embark on a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will drive through the beautiful crater region with a lot of appealing sceneries including numerous crater lakes and beautiful countryside landscapes. In the afternoon after lunch, you will head for a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel connecting two Rift Valley lakes, George, and Edward.

During the cruise, you will encounter large concentration of wildlife along the banks of the channel like hippos, elephants, buffaloes, large number of birds including winter visitor species. Afterwards, you will have a simple game drive as you drive heading to your lodge.

Day 4: Bwindi & Ishasha/ Tree climbing Lions

After breakfast, our 6 Days Gorillas, Primates, & Wildlife Budget Tour guide will drive heading to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth to Ishasha Sector which is famous for tree climbing lions. Along the way, expect to meet a big number of games including elephants, buffaloes, different types of antelopes, and baboons to mention but a few. In the afternoon after lunch, you will proceed with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas.

  • Main Destination: Ishasha Sector (Queen Elizabeth NP)
  • Accommodation: Bakiga Lodge – Mid-range lodge located just outside Bwindi NP

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking/Community Walk

In the morning after breakfast, the 6 Days Gorillas, Primates, & Wildlife Budget Tour guide will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla trekking activity. Afterwards, in the company of the ranger/guide, you will head into the forest in search of mountain gorillas. Along the way, expect to meet different flora and fauna of the forest as your guide will try to explain each and everything. After meeting the gorilla group, you will be given a one hour stay with the gentle giants before embarking on your journey heading out of the forest.

In the afternoon, you may go for a community walk around the Batwa community as you discover the unique mode of living of these people who were originally forest inhabitants.

Day 6: Drive to Kampala/ Entebbe Airport

After breakfast at your lodge, you will embark on a 6 Days Gorillas, Primates, & Wildlife Budget Tour journey back to the capital. The drive will take you through a beautiful scenery of the western countryside of Uganda via lush green hills. You will have lunch along the way with a stopover at the Uganda Equator for souvenir shopping and a photo moment as you say goodbye to Uganda. Arrive late in the afternoon and you will be transferred to your hotel or to the airport.
